Building our Whitebox
Tea Party » Devlog
This week our team planned out the layout and interactions of our level by creating a whitebox. Each of us designed one section of the level in an individual scene before merging them together.
We have been using Unity Collab and Slack to coordinate who edits which sections of the level and when we all should be making edits. So far, we have been able to communicate very effectively. We've divided up the work without issue and followed through with our commitments to one another. We've also been able to solve problems collaboratively as they came up.
Below is a video play through of our level as well as the break-down of our work so far:
Zach: Dock and Small Ship
- Blocked out dock and small ship
- Placed enemies, collectables, and player start
- Scripted collection interactions
Haley: Medium Ship
- Blocked out medium ship
- Placed enemies and collectables
- Created and textured prefabs for enemies, tea crates, and power-ups
Maddy: Large Ship
- Blocked out large ship
- Placed enemies and collectables
- Created texture to differentiate the ships from the rest of the level
- Placed the interactions between ships
